Vision Abolition
Project Details
Project: Give of Yourself & Vision Abolition
Team: Jake Johnson, Matthew Priestly, Mike Giles, David Hildreth, Stephanie Horn, Jon Ashcroft, Adam Watson, & Silas Kyler
Concept: Advent, the observance of the Christmas season on the Church calendar, is a strange mix of generosity and greed. A season that is supposed to represent the joy of giving is heavily commercialized and often about what one gets rather than gives. Praxis Church wished to focus on the importance of generosity and personal sacrifice.
We created the Give of Yourself campaign utilizing photos showing church members actually giving of themselves (arms and hair) to communicate the idea. We also highlighted the generosity of individuals in the church through a series of videos.
The whole campaign was capped off by an offering for Vision Abolition (see poster at top of post), a non-profit that fights sex trafficking, to help fund a counseling center for Homes of Hope in Fiji. Homes of Hope houses victims of the sex trafficking industry and their children, teaching them job skills and helping integrate them back into society.
Components: The campaign included concept, copy, design, a study guide, videos, and promotion on Facebook and Twitter.
Results: The initial goal of the campaign was to raise $10,000 for the counseling center. In the end, the campaign raised over $50,000.
